Fed in His Word

"“Bible Reading and Prayer should become a part and parcel of your life” was the regular advice our Principal kept before us before we went home from school for any vacation. I didn’t understand the essence of this concept fully but this statement however stayed fresh in my mind...
I’ve heard some missionary kids say “I wish my parents were not missionaries” or “Why did my parents become missionaries?” or “It’s we who are sacrificing and not parents.” But I have never thought in that way; maybe because I knew the mind of God and His plans that God revealed to me through my Bible readings and meditation." writes Angeline Mariyosh in this issue of The CALL where she narrates how her time spent with the Bible nourished her soul in times of troubles & loneliness and how God kept directing and assuring her.

Measure Your Growth

"How much have you grown? How tall are you? Do you want to know? Measure your height with a right scale or a measuring tape to know your exact height. That will tell you how much you have grown in stature since birth or in the last year or two. But there is another measure of growth in which God is interested in. Have you ever wondered, how good (or bad) are you?..." writes Christial Christopher in this children's article in The CALL and shows the right way to measure and measure up!

Word View or World View?

"Since printing press was invented in the mid-14th century Bible has always remained the best seller in the world. That is not the reason why we esteem the Bible. We esteem it because it is the life giving WORD of God. We all know that the word ‘Bible’ means collection of books or library of books. Bible is therefore a library of 66 books by about 40 different authors from different ages, cultures and languages, written over a period of 1500 years running over 1000 pages depending upon the language, the version, and the font size. Yet one can read from the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation as if it was a single book – as if it is a single story. How is it possible for such a collection of books with such diversity of authors, cultures, backgrounds, languages, and time periods to read like a single narration unless there is something gloriously miraculous about it? This, among many others, is unique about this library and a marvel with no parallel anywhere in the world.

One question that keeps bothering many is, is the Bible really the Word of God. Let me, at the outset, rattle you by saying the answer is both a yes and a no. Before you jump to conclusions and castigate me as a blasphemer read further.." writes Philip Pereira.

Familiarity Breeds Contempt Or…?

"We are living in the times of fulfilment of this prophecy of Habakkuk. With the increase in the means of communication, there is an increase in the spread of God’s Word throughout the world. 24X7 television channels and radio stations and internet sites broadcast messages from the Bible. Magazines, newspapers, posters, carrying the messages of the Bible are printed and circulated in abundance. And as always Bible is the most printed and the most translated book in the world...
But still the Bible cautions us saying that when the earth in filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, there is a possibility that, “You are filled with shame instead of glory.” (Habakkuk 2:16a)" writes Mariyosh J.
